    Sceptre 48" TV backlight LED`s

Trying to fix a backlight problem with a Sceptre 48" TV.

I found replacement strips with the same part number as the strips in the Sceptre, but the new backlight strips have 5 leds per strip and the ones in the tv has 6.

So I decided to replace the leds instead. I found 3 bad ones. I had no problem removing the bad ones with a heat gun, they came right out. However the leds on the replacement strip would not come out with heat. I use my solder iron as well, they will not come off.

Anyone know how I can remove those leds without damaging them?

Put soldering iron on table lay the strip onto the iron and keep the heat going until it comes off with the tweezers. It's really not easy to do. You can buy individual LEDs on ali express or eBay if you can't figure it out.

Here are some photos of the strips. The part number from the old strips and the numbers that was on the replacement in the following photo.

Eazy why was it easy to remove the bad leds with a heat gun but these new ones won't ... I don't understand that. So I need to keep at it with the solder iron until it comes loose?

Thanks for the link ... so you think this tool will do the job ... I will check it out.

I don't know why lol, I never replace just one led anymore, always all the strips. Too many issues doing just one led, maybe if it was my home TV bu

did you get the rite voltage plate for your country ie 110 or 240v all i did was connect the two leads to a wire and plug (heat shrinked the joins) the small bag is the stand offs fot the heat plate so it does not burn the surface your using it on. I just plug it in then place led strip with led you want too remove central on the plate, let it heat up then remove the led.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxpAGFuKPmg

I don't understand why you wouldn't just buy the correct LEDs.

69 ... thanks for that link I would have never have figure it out. I don't see anything about voltage ... just amp <5 that's it. I'm hoping they sent the right voltage since it was coming to the states.

Eazy ... I could not find the correct leds so I got the strip that had the same part number as the strip in the tv.

on the metal part of the tv chassis there should be a white sticker saying what lcd panel/number is used in the tv what is that? replacing the odd led can sometimes cause bright spots on the screen and its also hard too fit the lens back on correctly without it showing as a halo mark etc when watching tv so i agree if possible change all led strips for new (i have replaced the odd led before but its not long until another fails then you have too strip the tv back down and another risk of damaging the lcd or tab bonds)

When a LED is brighter then others you can fix it by taking a permanent marker and putting a bunch of black dots in a circle around the brighter led going out about 2-3 inches from center light. Neat trick. But I change out all lights. Cause in my short experience it gonna fail again

did you try searching using the lcd part number off the white sticker this sometimes helps with locating correct led strips.

Ahh okay, I see now, odd model number.

At this point I see why your changing them that way, you should of just bought replacement single LEDs instead of trying to remove them.

I don't know what type you need or voltage but this kit probably has it. If you measure the LED you'll know, and what voltage you need

                                        I believe they are measured as, 3030 is 3mm x 3mm and 2830 would be 2.8mm by 3.0mm

I got the TV from a friend. He claims that no image but sound from the TV.
I confirmed that when shine a flashlight on to the screen, I can see the image. And this should be backlight problem.
I open up the TV and found a few leds failed. And now I am ordering a new set of backlight strips for it.

But there is something that I do not understand when checking the leds. I do not have an led tester. I only use a bench power supply. I first set the voltage to 3V and current to 10mA. I could not light up the led until I increase the voltage to 12V. I understand most...

Hi I am having an issue with the LED backlight of this TV. I can see the picture with a flash light, so I determined it was a backlight issue.

Initially, after opening it I found 2 shorted and 1 open LED on 2 strips (total of 4). I removed the LEDs and shorted the pads together to verify if the backlight would work.

Testing it, I found the backlight turned on and I measured 54V when TV was in standby (off), and 100v when TV was turned on. The 4 strips each contain 9 LEDs, so 36 in all minus 3.

Instead of putting it back together I decided to replace...

Sceptre X505BV - Logo appears for 1 sec then backlight shuts off, LEDs tested good

Hello, this TV currently has me stumped. As the title states, when I power on the unit, the backlight comes on for 1 second then shuts off. The TV is still on, and I can see the video if I shine a flashlight on the screen.

Using the LED backlight tester I was able to confirm all LEDs are illuminating and seem to be working correctly when independently powered by this tester, so that leads me to believe there is something wrong with the power supply board.

Perhaps the great minds here can help me figure it out, as I don't see any thing obviously wrong with it. The...

Vizio M70-D3 4K with dark spots backlight issue

I have a Vizio M70-D3 4K with a dark spots backlight issue. It is using the Y8387248A backlight driver board.

On this model each of the 64 transistor powers 2 LEDs. Using my TKDMR TD3H backlight tester I've determined that the backlight LED strips were the issue, and the backlight driver board was just fine. Some LED pairs required 5.9 volt at 155mA, some required 9.5 volt and some were completely open.

I've removed the LCD panel and once the LED strips were exposed I've tested them again by connecting my LED tester directly on the test pads. To my surprise all, I've...

                                          Hi There!
I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth...
